DEVELOPMENT LAW

Development Law 4887/2022

The new Development Law N.4887/2022 provides subsidies with percentages of up to 75% for the establishment, expansion and upgrading of businesses in most sectors of the economy and replaces the aid framework of Development Law 4399/2016.

Along with the ESPA 2021-2027 and resources from the Recovery Fund, the Development Law constitutes one of the most important financial tools for supporting private investments in the regional and economic development of our country. It provides significant investment incentives in the form of subsidies, tax exemptions, and cost support.

RECOVERY AND RESILIENCE FUND

The National Recovery and Resilience Plan Greece 2.0 was approved on July 13, 2021, by the Economic and Financial Affairs Council of the European Union (Ecofin).
Greece 2.0 includes 106 investments and 68 reforms, distributed across 4 pillars: Green Transition, Digital Transition, Employment-Skills-Social Cohesion, Private Investments, and Economic Transformation.

The Recovery and Resilience Fund is the largest financial program of the EU to date.

The benefits that a business can derive from obtaining funding approval from ESPA are numerous. In today's economic environment, ESPA 2021–2027 programs represent one of the few ways for a business to gain access to financing that will support its sustainability and development.

The subsidization of a business by an ESPA program provides the opportunity to renovate its building infrastructure, upgrade its equipment, enhance its expertise, participate in trade exhibitions, invest in the promotion and marketing of its products, hire new personnel, and all of this by essentially recouping a significant portion of the funds spent.

LEADER PROGRAMS

The LEADER Local Development programs concern Interventions of a private nature in the sectors of Agricultural Product Processing, Tourism, Crafts and Retail Trade and are issued by Regional Unit.

PROGRAMS OF THE MINISTRY OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT AND FOOD

The programs of the Ministry of Rural Development and Food support the investments in the processing / marketing / and/or development of agricultural products as well as investments in wineries.

The subsidization of a business by a program of the Ministry of Rural Development and Food provides the opportunity to renovate its building infrastructure, upgrade its equipment, enhance its expertise, participate in trade exhibitions, invest in the promotion and marketing of its products, hire new personnel, and all of this by essentially recouping a significant portion of the funds spent.
